First, get the notion out of your head that the FDA wants to protect you. The FDA puts their seal of approval on pharmaceutical drugs that kill people. They stamp “Grade A” on meat that’s riddled with salmonella, feces, antibiotics and growth hormones. They are another too-big-for-their-britches government agency who falls down on the job time and time again. Do not trust them.
Aspartame is an FDA-approved synthetic sweetener that is in just about everything these days. The most prevalent product you’ll find aspartame in is diet sodas. In 1982, in the midst of the aerobics/diet craze of American culture, Coca-Cola realized that they needed to reach out to these spandex-clad women with a new product that would make them feel good about drinking soda again. They replaced sugar with aspartame and got an entire generation addicted to it.
Fact: Aspartame accounts for over 75% of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA.
It’s great that Diet Coke lists it’s ingredients on the can. However, they don’t tell you what aspartame is and what it does to the human body. Prepare to be horrified.
Aspartame is made up of 50% phenylalanine, 40% aspartic acid and 10% methyl alcohol.
Phenylalanine: a neurotoxin that excites the neurons in the brain to the point of cellular death.
Aspartic Acid: an excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain; an excitotoxin
Methyl Alcohol: a powerful neurotoxin that can produce blindness, cellular destruction in the brain and spinal cord, particularly the optic nerves connected to vision.
During prohibition, thousands of people went blind due to the use of wood alcohol/methanol in spirits. Today, diabetics who consume large amounts of sugar substitutes are more likely to go blind.
There have been over 90 aspartame symptoms reported to the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services, including: migraine headaches, dizziness, seizures, nausea, numbness, muscle spasms, weight gain, rashes, depression, fatigue, irritability, tachycardia, insomnia, vision problems, hearing loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, loss of taste, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, and joint pain.
The following chronic illnesses can be triggered or worsened by ingesting aspartame: Brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, mental retardation, lymphoma, birth defects, fibromyalgia, and diabetes.
It’s been noted by recovering alcoholics that quitting aspartame was more difficult and had more severe side effects. Doctors and nutritionists recommend a 30-day regime of slowly eliminating the toxin from the body.
Aspartame addictive, dangerous and FDA-approved. Look for it in diet sodas, powdered beverage mixes, cereals, chewing gum, yogurt, ice cream, bread, energy bars, pudding, vegetable drinks and many other items.
You can’t use the excuse “everything in moderation!” for this one. Avoid it like you would a bottle of poison. It’s effects on the human body are exactly the same.
